Leona LaurenLeona Louise (born on the 3rd April in 1986) is an British singer-songwriter, actress, activist, and actor. Her birthplace and childhood was in London Borough of Islington and attended Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis gained national attention when she won the third season of The X Factor in 2006 she was awarded an PS1 million recording contract in partnership with Syco Music. The single she was awarded, the cover version song by Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" reached number one for four weeks on UK Singles Chart and broke an all-time record of 50k digital downloads in 30 minutes. Clive Davis's label J Records, signed Lewis to a contract for five albums in the United States. Lewis's success only increased when she released her debut album, Spirit (2007). The album received platinum certification in the UK and became the fourth most-sold album in the 2000s. In the words of the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the best-selling debut album from an artist of female origin at the turn of the century. "Bleeding Love" is the single that was released as the album's lead track from the album, was No. 1 within the UK for seven weeks. It also was the highest-selling single in the UK. The single was the top-selling in 2008, and Lewis received an award for her work, the Billboard Award for the Most Popular New Artist. She released Echo in 2009 , and recorded "I Love You" as the theme song. Lewis's track "Collide," was written in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and she also dropped Hurt The EP, her debut extended performance. Her third studio album, Glassheart (2012), marked a new creative direction for Lewis and her music, drawing the inspiration of dubstep and electronic music. Her Glassheart Tour was in the mid-year of 2013, and she started recording songs to create her first Christmas album. Christmas, With Love came out later in the year, and the album's lead track, "One More Sleep" was a top three hit in the UK. Lewis was a British female solo artist, was the first British solo artist to break the top of the list with eight songs. This surpasses Olivia Newton John's record which included seven singles.
