Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is a popular American actress and singer. Her parents were Tom Bell and Lorelei Frygier who are both news director on television. She was raised and from Huntington Woods Michigan. Kristen is Polish (mother's) and German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen's passion for acting was found at a young age. Her audition was in 1992 and was offered an appearance on Raggedy Ann, and Andy. Bell was appointed by her mom as an agent at the age of was 13 years old. Then, she was chosen for the newspaper advertisements and TV commercials. At this time she began taking private acting lessons. Bell had a small uncredited part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a member of the drama and music club at Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz production at her highschool won Bell the role of the lead Dorothy character. Bell went to New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theatre after graduating. The year 2001 was the time Bell quit her university in order to portray the character of Becky on Tom Sawyer. In 2001, it was also that Bell's first appearance in a film that was credited to her, Pootie Tang (2002). The scene she appeared in has been cut out and the credits are all that display her. The year 2002 saw her first major role. Bell was in The Crucible, a Broadway production of The Crucible with Liam Neeson as well as Angela Bettis.
